1 Star - Pitiful. I only finished because I couldn't believe how bad it was.
2 Stars - It either has some serious detractors or was totally not my thing.
3 Stars - I liked it but it could use some improvement.
4 Stars - I really liked it and recommend it.
5 Stars - I loved it. A great read that I think anyone can appreciate on some level.
When I'm torn between a star I'll employ a half point to signify my ambiguity. I do not rate books that I don't finish reading.
